Human Reliability

Over the past 25 years, Human Reliabilty have specialised in developing new ways of looking at problems, combining innovation and imagination, to produce solutions that are both practical and cost effective. We believe that our work makes a real impact on the safety and quality of life in our society. We are looking for innovative thinkers who want to join us in achieving this objective, by working as part of a committed team.

Research and Development

We turn the results of academic research into practical techniques to address real world problems. Our excellence in this area has been demonstrated by our success in gaining prestigious research contracts with many organisations such as The Health and Safety Executive, The National Health Service, Rail Safety, and Standards Board and the Civil Aviation Authority. Internationally we have had projects in Japan , Korea , Brazil , the United States , as well as within the European Union.

Human Factors Training & Consultancy

Human Reliabilty provides a wide range of courses to sectors such as rail and marine transport, healthcare, power generation, chemical processing and aviation maintenance. Our courses are constantly being upgraded to reflect new developments and consulting experience. Consulting provides us with the opportunity to apply the ideas developed through our research and development activities, to the solution of specific problems in a number of industries. We have consulted for multinational organisations in the petrochemicals, healthcare, and rail and marine sectors.

Software development

We develop software products such as our Procedures Development and Task Analysis and incident investigation tool Human Factors Workbench (HFW) , and the mental workload measurement tool CLIMATE developed for the Maritime and Coast Guards Agency.

Specific competences in particular areas are important but we also value adaptability, flexibility and enthusiasm. Human Reliabilty is located in a pleasant semi-rural location within easy reach of the lively cities of Liverpool and Manchester . We have an informal and friendly working environment with a collegial rather than a corporate atmosphere. We expect commitment but in return we provide considerable autonomy and flexibility with regard to working hours and locations. Salary levels will reflect your experience and qualifications.
